Human insulin-like growth factor-1, also known as IGF-1, has a molecular weight of 7.6kD. It is a hormone similar in molecular structure to insulin. It primarily functions through binding to its specific receptor, the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R), to initiates intracellular signaling. IGF-1 is one of the most potent natural activators of the AKT signaling pathway, which stimulates cell growth and proliferation, and inhibits cell apoptosis. Thus, IGF-1 is widely deemed as a powerful substitute of insulin. OsrIGF-1 is expressed as fusion protein with HSA, which increases its solubility and lifetime. OsrIGF-1 presents a molecular weight about 74.5kD, and has a much higher stability compared to IGF-1.

Formulation: It is lyophilized with phosphate.


Purity: More than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.


Note: The biological activity and endotoxin of OsrIGF-1 are calculated the active ingredient of IGF-1, not the fusion protein.

Biological activity: The ED50 is ≤1ng/ml determined by a cell proliferation assay using Balb/c 3T3 cell, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥1×106 Units/mg


Endotoxin: Less than 5EU/μg

Storage and Handling:

Stored at temperatures -20 for at least 12 months. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized OsrIGF-1 in sterile water. Use as soon as possible after opening. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.


1. SDS-PAGE and Western Blot

2. Bioactivity

The stimulating cell proliferation of OsrIGF-1 measured using the Balb/c 3T3 cell line. The ED50  of OsrIGF-1 is less than 1ng/ml.
